MAUMEE OHIO 43537 419-893-3474 FAX: 419-893-2364 REEL REPAIR, CLEANING & SERVICING Upon receipt of your reel here at Maumee Tackle (Gary's Reel repair), we will check the reel into the shop, review the Repair Request Form that you completed and shipped with the reel and perform a quick visual inspection of the reel. When cleaning and servicing your reel, we will take the reel completely apart and will manually clean all dirt, mud, sand and old grease from each individual piece and the body inside and out! Each part is then inspected for wear and/or flaws. During re-assembly, we will grease all moving parts with the appropriate lube for your reel. PARTS If parts are needed you will have two options as indicated on the Reel Repair Form as follows: Option 1: If parts are needed contact me with a quote for approval before ordering parts. Option 2: If parts are needed and their cost are less than $5.00 I authorize approval for parts to be replaced and the costs to be added to my bill. Note: If parts are needed and their cost are more than $5.00; we will call you for authorization before we continue. ***Here are the reasons why Gary's Reel Repair offers Option 2 for parts: If you have already sent your reel in to us for repair, then you have already paid the shipping costs to get your reel to our shop, you have already authorized for the cleaning/servicing charge for your reel as priced below and you will also be paying for the shipping charges for us to ship your reel back to you. At that point, you have already invested at least $20 into your reel and have been without it for probably at least a week. We figure that if you’ve gone through the effort to send the reel in for repair, then you definitely want the reel fixed and want it back as soon as possible. This pre-approval reduces our turn-around time on your repair!*** However, if you still prefer that we call you if parts are needed, just check the appropriate box on the Reel Repair Form. If a reel is sent in for repair and the cost of the parts will make the overall repair cost not cost-effective, we will return the reel for a $5.00 bench fee (plus shipping) or Maumee Tackle will scrap and keep the reel for parts for no charge. STEPS FOR SENDING IN YOUR REEL FOR SERVICE: **Note: You can also fill out the Reel Repair form & drop your reel off at Gary's Reel Repair!!** Click here to open the Gary's Reel Repair Form. Print and fill out the form and make sure to be as detailed as possible when explaining any problems you might have. Package the reel(s) and a completed Reel Repair Form (one for each reel) in a small box. Allow enough room for packing materials to protect the reel(s). Once the reel has been serviced, we will contact you again to provide a total of the repair and shipping costs. Payments can be made by MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover over the phone or by Paypal by secure online credit card payments. For on-line payments, we will send you an invoice by E-mail. Simply click on the link within the E-mail and make your payment by Paypal.  |
Once payment has been received, we will ship your reel(s) back to you. Shipments from Gary's Reel Repair will always include insurance and delivery confirmation. If you would like additional information or if you have any questions about having your reel serviced, please call us at 419-350-8076!!! OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Please make sure to send the entire reel in for service. Do not just send a part of the reel. If a part is missing, send all parts that you have. If you only need parts, please call us for information. We will need the make and model of the reel to provide a parts quote. Parts orders will also include shipping costs. We will remove the line from all spools to clean and check the spool. If you want to keep your line, please remove it before you send it in for service. If your payment is not received within 60 days of notice that your reel has been repaired, your reel will become the property of Gary's Reel Repair.
