evel-579.1 – low water conditions
Water Temp-75 degrees
Wading To Bluegrass is possible
The low water conditions have slowed the white bass , in short we need some rain. The white bass that are still in the river are not very active or moving around very much . We have seen some good catfish action using stinkbaits ,nightcrawlers and live bait. Thre have been some resident walleye caught in the river the past few days. Besides the regular carolina rig we have seen some success with crank baits and with leeches(which are walleyes natural food). The local ponds and lakes have also been producing some nice crappe and bluegill. .
Also some anglers have reported that the small mouth bass bite has picked up, for a good fighting fish they are some of the best. River bass prefer some current this time of year because eddies hold low oxygen water and that’s not good. Look for current seams where moving water meets still water.
