Conditions are very good to get out and target some steelhead out in the Maumee- clear(for the Maumee) and cold water.  target areas that have some rifflles or rapids. If there is a creek feeding nearby thats a good area to target as well.  A very simple method is to float a minnnow, fly or egg sac down theses areas and see if you can stir up some action. .

Lake Erie

Surface Temp is 36-38 degrees in the western basin .  The night bite is still hit and miss, but hey thats fishing. From what I have heard not any one place has been consistent. Hearing that the perch are still hitting ok , not any large numbers but the ones being caught are jumbo. Shore fishing out near Maumee Bay has been pretty good.

Also on another note I heard that they opened the road back up to Metzgers marsh a few weeks ago so you dont have to hike out to the pier if you want to fish.

Have fun, be safe and good luck fishing.
