Yesterday was a great day to fish , kayak and just plain be near the water.  Lots of big fish caught yesterday-the white bass are running big this year. A lot of 2+ pounders coming out of the river. Look at the featured photo, a beast at 5.25 lbs. Thought we had a state record white bass there for a minute.  -thats a hybrid white bass. looks almost identical to a white bass but for a few small differences and size of course. A hybrid striped bass, also known as a wiper or whiterock bass, is a hybrid between the striped bass(Morone saxatilis) and the white bass (M. chrysops). It can be distinguished from the striped bass by broken rather than solid horizontal stripes on the body.
