Looking forward to another great week of kayaking on the mighty maumee river. The rain we got barely changed the water level-thee ground soaked it all up. So still running low and slow.

Fishing,

Sounds like some good things are happinging out on lake erie. Still cating some good walleye despite the mayflies hatching this past week. The fish fill up on these tasty bugs and the bite typically slows down a little till they get hungry again.

Smallmouth bass

This  summer, flow is moderately low and rivers runing kinda clear clear. Much of the smallmouth population relates to faster-moving water at this time, and fish use all sorts of current breaks to rest or ambush prey.

Here on the river we are seeing lots of nice sized (15-20 inches) good eating catfish being caught. Just float a nightcrawler, leech or crawfish down under a bobber and hang on.

Have fun, be safe and good luck fishing.
